The Centific Premier Hackathon 2.0 expanded significantly from the inaugural edition, growing from 100 participants to 250 participants selected from more than 13,000 applicants across seven AI streams. Applications came from more than 100 universities and 100 cities across India, giving the hackathon a broad and diverse talent base.

The selection process combined resume screening, online assessments, case studies, and interviews designed to evaluate technical ability, communication skills, adaptability, and problem-solving under pressure. This year’s hackathon was designed to move participants from a student mindset to a builder mindset, from solving academic exercises to designing AI systems capable of creating business impact.

A hackathon built around real-world AI

This year’s hackathon presented challenges centered on some of the most relevant and fast-evolving areas in AI, including agentic AI, vision AI, and physical AI. Participants were also tested on core AI foundations such as data engineering, model engineering, and machine learning.

Because the problem statements came directly from Centific customer-facing teams and internal functional groups, participants worked on problems shaped by actual enterprise conditions rather than classroom exercises. Teams had to think beyond whether a solution could work in a demo. They had to ask sharper questions. Can this scale? Is it reliable? Is it useful for a business user? Can it be demonstrated clearly? Can it create measurable impact?

Throughout the program, teams worked on reasoning systems, workflow orchestration, tool usage, data structures, edge cases, MVP design, dashboards, and enterprise-ready architecture planning. Mentor reviews, mock demos, evaluations, interviews, and task-based assessments pushed teams to continuously refine both their ideas and execution.

From student mindset to builder mindset

The opening day set the pace for the two weeks ahead through onboarding, IT setup, operational briefings, and leadership sessions. Tirupathi Rao Dockara, Ganesh Balasubramanian, Ravi Prakash, and Pradeep met with teams early in the program, outlining the expectations behind Hackathon 2.0 and Centific’s broader initiatives.

Tiru encouraged participants to move beyond academic thinking and approach challenges through the lens of execution, usability, and operational impact. Narsi discussed Centific’s growth in Data and AI while outlining the expanded ambition behind the 2026 edition. A session by Vasu Sundarababu on disruptive AI trends and first-principles thinking challenged teams to approach AI as an engineering and operational discipline tied to practical problems.

That mindset shift became visible quickly. Ideation gave way to requirement definition, business requirement documents, dataset exploration, architecture design, MVP planning, dashboards, demos, and final presentations. The environment demanded speed, clarity, resilience, collaboration, and ownership.

Learning from leaders, mentors, and industry experts

The hackathon exposed participants to the kinds of leadership, operational thinking, and cross-disciplinary problem-solving that shape how AI actually gets developed, deployed, and managed inside organizations.

Centific Premier Hackathon 2.0 Speakers

During Week 1, teams attended sessions led by Tirupathi Rao Dockara, Ganesh Balasubramanian, Ravi Prakash, Avinash, Pradeep, and Vasu. The discussions explored production architecture, scalable workflows, MVP planning, Human-in-the-Loop systems, and the realities involved in deploying large-scale solutions inside businesses.

The guest sessions widened the conversation beyond engineering. Dr. Sanjeet Singh and Rajendrasinh Jadeja from Marwadi University discussed wealth creation, research, and decision-making in an AI-driven economy. Dr. M. Chakradhar Reddy connected AI with healthcare and personal wellness through examples involving hypertension, diabetes, fatty liver disease, and blood pressure management. His message that willingness to learn and solve problems carries more weight than background resonated strongly with participants.

Hull Xu, Centific’s Chief Financial Officer, reflected on his career path across banking, consulting, finance, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Atul Kharate brought perspectives on sustainability, energy systems, biofuels, green energy, and strategic energy storage. Harneet Singh, Founder and Chief AI Officer of Rabbitt AI, shared lessons around disciplined execution, ownership, continuous learning, and long-term thinking. Mukesh Jain, CTO and Executive Vice President at Capgemini, spoke about leadership, ambition, and decision-making shaped by his experience across Microsoft, Jio, and Capgemini.

The sessions pushed teams to think beyond technical implementation alone. Clear communication, adaptability, decision-making, usability, and operational thinking mattered just as much as engineering execution.

Centific Premier Hackathon 2.0 Problem Solving

The launch of Aegis: Centific’s virtual humanoid platform

A defining moment for Hackathon 2.0 was the launch of Aegis, Centific's Virtual Humanoid Platform. Aegis represents a major step forward in the evolution of virtual agents, powered by Centific's proprietary Model Orchestration Cognitive Kernel Interactive Learning Architecture, or MOCK ILA.

The platform introduces virtual humanoid agents with their own brain, virtual eyes, ears, and voice. The agents can have their own email, phone, and social media accounts. They can join meetings, converse with people, share their own virtual desktop, and continuously upskill themselves in a domain by learning from online courses.

Aegis marks a paradigm shift in the way organizations can imagine AI agents. Rather than being limited to static chat interfaces or task-specific bots, Aegis points toward a future where virtual humanoid agents can function as active digital collaborators. The potential use cases are expansive: enterprise support, training, customer engagement, knowledge work, operations, research assistance, workflow automation, and personalized domain expertise.

Two weeks of intensity, iteration, and execution

The pace of the hackathon was demanding by design. Over two weeks, teams moved through ideation, mentor alignment, problem definition, solution design, development, testing, demo preparation, evaluations, and final presentations.

Week 1 focused on understanding challenge statements, aligning with mentors, refining business requirement documents, identifying gaps, and shaping initial solutions. Tiru introduced GLB and Avatar GLB concepts alongside human-in-the-;oop systems working with real-time agentic AI. Participants also explored production architecture involving workflows, root structure agents, nodes, data variations, edge cases, MVP thinking, Avaturn, GLBs, and examples drawn from systems such as Chitti and Aegis AI.

By the middle of Week 1, teams were creating avatars, preparing datasets, generating synthetic data, defining MVPs, finalizing flows, and building agent dashboards. Confidence grew as solutions became more refined and more closely aligned with business requirements.

Centific Premier Hackathon 2.0 Collaboration

Week 2 introduced a new batch of participants and mentors through registration, onboarding, laptop allocation, and orientation sessions. The following days focused on deeper collaboration, solution refinement, scalability, integrations, mock demos, presentation reviews, and evaluations.

Day 10 centered on final evaluations and Grand Finale preparation. Teams refined presentations, prepared demos, completed L1 presentation rounds, and participated in interviews and task-based assessments. Mentor reviews and mock demos sharpened both technical execution and storytelling.

Serious innovation, balanced with energy and fun

The schedule demanded long hours and sustained concentration, but the program also created space for participants to recharge and connect. Music sessions, singing, dance, stand-up comedy, games, informal gatherings, and a movie day gave teams moments to step away from the intensity of the build process.

Those activities helped maintain momentum across two demanding weeks while strengthening collaboration and team bonding. Mentors and leaders participated in many of the sessions as well, creating a more open and collaborative atmosphere throughout the program.

The Grand Finale at T-Hub

The Grand Finale at T-Hub marked the successful culmination of the hackathon. It brought together participants, mentors, Centific leadership, and distinguished guests to celebrate two weeks of innovation, collaboration, and AI-driven problem-solving.

The finale featured inspiring addresses from Centific leaders including Lakshmi Narasimhan Rangachari and Tirupathi Rao Dockara, along with keynote sessions by guests Harneet Singh, Mukesh Jain, Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director at Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya, and Vaidhyasubramaniam Sethuraman, Vice Chancellor and TATA Sons Chair Professor of Management at SASTRA Deemed University. Their sessions gave participants valuable perspectives on AI, leadership, innovation, and the future of opportunities for young technologists.

During the awards and offer rollout ceremony, winning teams walked away with cash prizes and internship offers with one of Centific's seven AI streams. The finale also included demo walkthroughs and podcast sessions, celebrating not only the winners but also the growth, resilience, and potential of every participant.
